MIFA Partnership with Erasmus+ 2017 Portugal Trip

MIFA travel to Portugal with Erasmus+ for a 2017 tour MIFA will be traveling to Portugal with Erasmus+ for a tour in Portugal for 2 weeks.

At Manchester International Football Academy the key focus here is the players and ensuring that they are enjoying an enriching and beneficial experience during their time at the academy. This requires us to constantly make opportunities available for the players on and off the pitch; something we don’t do by halves. This process doesn’t only help the players in achieving more in their careers and bettering them as individuals, it also motivates us as staff to see that the effort we put into the academy produces a positive outcome.

A very special, upcoming trip has been organised here at the academy for 20 of our players to travel to Portugal next year in collaboration with a Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sports. This gives us access to professional facilities in Portugal during our stay.

The plan is to visit Portugal for 2 weeks in which the players will experience Portuguese football both educationally and culturally. The players will be encouraged to soak up everything Portugal has to offer making the trip a priceless experience for all of them. The skills and knowledge they will learn regarding football and the Portuguese style of playing will be something they are unable to enjoy without visiting the country itself. Also, to learn about another country’s culture and people is something everybody should get the chance to do.

This is why this particular opportunity is so special to both us and the players. A lot of the boys on our study programme aren’t often given offers like this and some may have never left England before. This has caused a level of excitement amongst the team that is next to none. We are proud to be able to bring these sorts of experiences to our players as they are both deserving and appreciative in abundance. The trip will no doubt add a lot of value to our boys and that is what it is all about; “Moving Forwards Together”.
