Sheffield United player James Hanson visits MIFA for a special talk

Sheffield United player James Hanson took time out from his busy schedule to come and chat with the players at Manchester International Football Academy on Tuesday afternoon.

James spoke about the early struggles of his football career, stemming back from him being rejected at a young age, to working in a local supermarket stacking shelves at the age of 21 whilst playing non-league football.

The striker is a hero in his home-town of Bradford, having helped lead them to promotion from league 2 in 2013, playing over 300 games for the club and is currently joint third in their all time top goal scorers list.

The MIFA players showed a real interest in what James had to say, and were able to learn more in a Q&A session at the end of the talk, in which some players wanted to discuss dealing with injuries and staying motivated.

Visits like these are just one of many ways that MIFA try to inspire and motivate our young players to be the best they can be, both on and off the field and give the players a greater insight into the footballing world.
