MIFA travelled to Manor Farm to play Altrincham Youth Team
MIFA travelled to Manor Farm to play Altrincham Youth Team on Tuesday 20th August and it turned out to be a very successful and entertaining game with MIFA winning 3-0.
The first half saw both teams create good chances; MIFA's keeper Dean Gardikiotis pulled some fine saves off. Whilst at the other end of the pitch Frank Obiri went clear only to have his effect tipped round the post.
The deadlock was broken when a fine through ball from Jetmir allowed Ken Ilo to lash the ball home first time with a well taken goal. MIFA retained good possession throughout the first half.
The second half started very similar to the first with both teams having early chances to score. The game was put out of Altrincham's reach when a one two from Ian Simmons and Moa Spindari gave Simmons the time and space to place the ball in to the goal from close range.
And it wasn't long before the away team made it 3-0 after some fine individual play Jetmir created space for himself inside the oppositions box and checked back twice before smashing the ball through the keepers legs and in to the goal.
A very good performance from the MIFA squad and lots of positives to build on for the coming weeks.
