Football! Football! Football!

MIFA have a very busy week of football! Football! Football! Football!

MIFA first team had a visit from Accrington Stanley this Thursday as part of week packed full of games.

The academy’s first team came up against Australian side International Football and Goalkeeping Academy. The academy is run by and coached by ex-Chester city goalkeeper and former Liverpool F.C. coach, Billy Stewart. The game was marred by some horrific weather, but had some great moments with a last minute goal for IFGA leading to a 3-3 draw.

The second team had a visit from Radcliffe FC on Wednesday afternoon, but struggled to get a result against a really tough squad of players.

Thursday saw the first team take to the field again, this time against League 2 side Accrington Stanley FC’s youth team. MIFA started very positively against an extremely organised Accrington side that featured 2 players that have featured for the club’s first team. The game earlier in week certainly took its toll on MIFA come the second half, with the side ending up losing the game.

MIFA have two games scheduled for next week, when the academy face Hopwood Hall and Burnley College on Wednesday during the February half-term taster week. This will be a great chance for those visiting to get a chance to play 11 a-side football

There's still time to sign up for our free taster week starting Monday the 19th of February! If you are interested, email our offices on [email protected] or give us a call/text on 07550082758.
