MIFA tournament to feature Class of 92’s Academy
On Thursday the 22nd of March, MIFA will be taking part in an exciting tournament that will feature Salford City’s Academy 92.
The tournament is a five team competition between MIFA’s and Pro Elite Academy’s first and second teams and Academy 92, coached by ex-Manchester United legends: Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt.
The idea behind the meet is to give teams the opportunity to gain experience in a competitive environment, with penalty shootouts and games that will mirror the intensity of a professional match, with the idea of MIFA's players getting exposure to professional academies that could help boost their footballing profile.
Each game will start with a penalty shoot-out between the two sides to decide which team will start their game 1-0 up. The matches will then last a fierce ten minutes with no half-time period to recreate the feel of the end of a game.
The tournament will take place at Salford Sports Village on March 22nd and will be free for all to watch.
Welcome to MIFA, the academy that allows you to train full time in a professional structure. Join a squad of young players from the UK and around the world, moving forwards together.
