Day one in Portugal and waking up to glorious sunshine was certainly a shock for the team! The first day at Brown’s was a sunny one, getting to grips with their new surroundings and being challenged on the pitch.

After filling up on a hearty breakfast, in the team restaurant, we enjoyed a welcome tour by our trip manager, Joao, who made us feel welcome and raring to go. A full team meeting, led by manager Chris, had everyone pumped up. After catching a bit of well needed sun, it was time to get down to business and begin training. The facilities at Brown’s are exceptional, with grass pitches any groundsman would be envious of! An intense session out in the blazing afternoon sun put the team through their paces, followed by an intense circuit in the high performance gym. In the evening, their football knowledge was tested with a football orientated quiz. This, as ever with a group of young competitive individuals got heated, however the verified winners shall have to wait for tomorrow to receive their prize! The team need a good night’s sleep in preparation for another day of intense training, so it’s lights out for all.
